Concealed Handgun Course

This is the course required to apply for your Louisiana State Police Concealed Handgun Permit.

YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER (PAY FOR) YOUR SEAT FOR THIS CLASS IN ADVANCE. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SIGN-UP THE MORNING OF AS SEATS ARE LIMITED AND MUST BE RESERVED!!!

The class will be from 9:00 AM until approximately 5:00 PM.

DOORS OPEN AT 8:30 AM

RENEWALS:

(We require all renewal students to take our entire course in order to maintain continuity and defensibility in court. We feel this better prepares you and us for your defense and allows us to speak specifically to training we know you have received. Furthermore, we are pretty confident you will be exposed to new and updated information you did not receive in your previous courses, even if they were from us.)

Location - 6400 Press Drive, New Orleans, La 70126. This location is the Southern University at New Orleans, Natural Sciences Building Lecture Hall. It is the first campus building if you are traveling northbound on Press Drive away from Chef Hwy. The last campus building if you are traveling southbound on Press Drive away from the Lakefront.

YOU WILL NOT NEED YOUR HANDGUN for the classroom portion, 2 MAGAZINES AND 50 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION will be needed when your shooting qualification is scheduled at an alternative range. Please DO NOT bring ANY firearms to the SUNO Campus as this is a Firearm Free Zone. You will be given training replica weapons for classroom training purposes.

This course is geared for the person looking to apply for their Louisiana Concealed Handgun Permit and also anyone new to firearms. It is a great introduction to firearms, safety, ownership, and more importantly, the legal issues surrounding their ownership and use. If you do not have a firearm yet, DO NOT GO BUY ONE. You can rent one from us. After taking the course you will be much better informed to make a purchasing decision than the one you will most likely regret.
