Concealed Handgun Course

This is the course required to apply for your Louisiana State Police Concealed Handgun Permit.

YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER FOR YOUR SEAT FOR THIS CLASS IN ADVANCE. PAID SEATS are filled first come first serve and will receive a course completion certificate for your CHP app. FREE seats will NOT receive a certificate unless you are interested in applying for your LSP CHP (Fee Required). YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SIGN-UP THE MORNING OF AS SEATS ARE LIMITED AND MUST BE RESERVED!!!

The class will begin at 8:30 AM.

RENEWALS:

(We require all renewal students to take our entire course in order to maintain continuity and defensibility in court. We feel this better prepares you and us for your defense and allows us to speak specifically to training we know you have received. Furthermore, we are pretty confident you will be exposed to new and updated information you did not receive in your previous courses, even if they were from us.)

Location - Southern University at NO, 6400 Press Drive, New Orleans, La 70126. Natural Sciences Building Lecture Hall. Located directly across from Press Park Golf Course. 

YOU WILL NOT NEED YOUR HANDGUN for the classroom portion. SUNO is a FIREARM FREE ZONE!!!!! 2 MAGAZINES AND 50 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION will be needed when your shooting qualification is scheduled at Shooter's Club Range in Harahan later that afternoon. There is an additional RANGE FEE of $14 paid to the Range. Please DO NOT bring ANY firearms into the class area. 

This course is geared for the person looking to apply for their Louisiana Concealed Handgun Permit and also anyone new to firearms. It is a great introduction to firearms, safety, ownership, and more importantly, the legal issues surrounding their ownership and use. If you do not have a firearm yet, DO NOT GO BUY ONE. You can rent one from us. After taking the course you will be much better informed to making a purchasing decision than the one you will most likely regret.
